Recovery Is Part of the Session, Not a Reward

Most amateur athletes train enough. Very few recover enough. If your performance has plateaued while your volume has climbed, the missing variable is almost always recovery.
Compression wear helps most in the hours after a hard session, not during it. Twenty to forty minutes of graduated compression post-training measurably reduces the heaviness you feel the next morning.
Sleep is the single largest lever. Seven hours is maintenance; eight to nine is adaptation. Protect it the way you protect your long run.
Keep nutrition boring and consistent: protein within an hour of finishing, carbohydrate matched to the effort, and enough salt if you sweat heavily.
